Hi there,

Anyone ever heard/seen anyone put a 2L 16V Rover M Series engine in a mini?

I have been offered one by a colleague and was wanted to know if any one had done the conversion before. I know the K Series conversion is common, I don't know how similar the K and M series are.

completely different engine to the k series, early version of the t series. Its a fairly weighty lump and size is an issue too. I've not seen one done

I've not heard of one done either but that makes me think , why? O_O

Size and weight are main issues. The T series is a better engine but has the same reasons not to fit it to a Mini. People don't fit the bigger VTEC engine in either as they just don't drive right. Might be ok as a drag car, but not as a road car.
