Thought I'd add my pictures from the show. Had a fantastic time, even tagged a visit to Land's End on the end of the trip. Was our first time out on a mini run and Morse clocked up 1100 miles in 5 days, now back safely in Brighton.

Worst riv run ever? sadly i think so!

Its clear that the Cornish mini club and Miniworld put a lot of thought and planning into this event and after attending all bar one riv run i think it really pains me to say it, the attendance was poor and imo i think its the site, the caravans are knackered, dirty and damp, the entertainment is poor and you are more likely to be next to a group of drunken lads in the family area than in smugglers as the caravans are slightly better i mean even groups of rowdy lads have standards! on the subject of trevelgue being for familys and smugglers groups what is there for children to do? they had even ripped out the play park.

It seems that its only the hard core riv run fans now that go and those looking for a piss up weekend in newquay, trevelgue have not moved with the times and invested in the site in years and i know this has put quite a few of my friends off and now myself, if they are loosing hard core riv run fans like me who have been loyally supporting the run and the site for 16, 17, 18 years or whatever it is then sadly i cannot see it continuing in this format for to many years to come.

@wolfie: I think we're getting old, my friend! But I agree about Trevelgue, and from my experience of other sites in the SW like Parkdean the holiday campsite trade is struggling. Whose fault? I don't know.

Glad some people had a good time and please keep coming back to the west country. It's beautiful for all its faults and you can't beat a winding country lane for mini thrills. Just mind the horses please.

wolfie, I hope Oscar is well and keeping nice and cool.

Sadly I have agree with Wolfie, I have attended the Riv Run since the first one in 95' & have always enjoyed it but it seems that over the last couple of years the attendance has got less & the general condition of the caravans are getting worse. Trevelgue don't really seem to give a damn if you have any problems. Most of the caravans need replacing, also the Riv Run doesn't seem to be advertised like it used to be. The first number of years I attended this show, the camp site was wall to wall mini's but some people seem happier to take other cars rather than drive there mini's. It staggers me that an enthusiast would think like that, surely the fun/challenge is taking the mini !!

I was going to however i have just seen miniworlds facebook page someone complaining about the poor conditions on the site, this was quickly dismissed by miniworld so there seems little point, i would suggest seeing how it goes next year if more feel the same way as me you can always come back to these posts.

Please do contact MiniWorld if you have had problems with the site, or the event in general. There have already been some complaints which have been forwarded to Trevelgue. MiniWorld is also looking for suggestions of ways of improving the event and some ideas are currently under consideration. Please do send your thoughts and suggestions to mw.ed@kelsey.co.uk

Hi Kay

I will do, sadly i will never ever stay at trevelgue again, just look at there trip adviser ratings that says it all!

I like the mini show and its clear alot of thought goes in from miniworld and the cornish mini club however am not sure if or what can be improved on to be honest i will leave that to people far more creative than me.

Hope both yourself and Karen are well.

It was our first riv run and possibly last as it was very disappointing, worst show I've been too and I have been to most. We enjoyed the weekend away but sadly not the show or the caravan.

The Riv Run is not what it should be, MiniWorld should be ashamed to use this camp site, the Cornish mini Club put on a great show but the camp site is awful is some cases unsafe, and the staff at trevelgue dont care what you stay in, we tried to complain but where told to shut up, or leave

well I went and enjoyed it alot. but it is the first UK mini show i have ever been to.

I loved seeing the different models and modification styles compared to here in AUS.

We stayed in a B&B in town , so i cant really comment on the accommodation at the park.

It would have been good to see a few more cars on display but i guess the space is probably an issue. Its a shame , as I saw so many nice cars just in the car park and on the run ( some of my favorites actually) . It would have been good to have a closer look at some of those cars too.

Only just remembered i didn't make use of the In-car footage i got while doing the organised cruise.

Stuck afew clips together and made this video. No major events, just afew clips of me accelerating and some bits of the countryside.
