had a look at everything on my car to find out why there is no spark, looks as tho both my coil and ignition module are dead!

so my question is what would everyone recommend for replacements. I know this depends on the spec of an engine and its use. So ill tell you guys the very little i know about the car. engine is a A+ big bore, personally i think its a standard 1275, but previous owner said its a 1380, but he had no paper work. Hiff 44 with a cone filter, and a straight through exhaust.

so based on the little information what do you guys think i should get, OE parts or are there better alternatives. seen some ignition modules on ebay for 20, but they are the 3 pin type and mine is 2 pin, would they work?

Per your other thread, you have not completed your tests yet. It is a bit early to discuss fitting a new ignition system.

The differences between ignition modules are trivial compared to the advance curve which is controlled by the mechanics of the distributor. Therefor, unless you are replacing the complete distributor, your engine specs will not weigh into your decision on what ignition components to buy. Regardless, it is too early to discuss replacing all the ignition parts until you know what is wrong with what you have.

Please do not take my comments in a negative way. You can certainly replace every part of the ignition system if you want but that will not be a prudent use of your money. Let your other thread run its course. Determine why you don't have a spark, determine what component has failed, then replace it to get your car back on the road.
