Interesting website below with a collection of most 'Practical Motorist' magazine covers from the very first weekly issue 12th May 1934 priced at 3d and the monthly issues from May 1954 priced at 1 shilling, through to the last issue believed to be sometime in 1997.

I love looking through these old mags. Fair point above about the irony (and tragedy) of major items - engines, gearboxes, subframes, bodywork - lasting in some cases only a few years from new before the car is either scrapped or requires major repairs.
