Well ladies and gentlemen, here is what I'm starting with for my build.
She looks rather rough right now but I'm sure she will be set to go in no time.
Apart from the body work, which is quite a bit of work, I will be installing a custom cages historic chromolly roll cage, swapping out the wet suspension for a dry setup, swapping out the old 850 for a 998, lexan windows, fiberglass front end, 13" wheels and some very sticky rubber.

Good looking project, I've got a MK2 that looks very similar to that in colour & condition. Good luck.

Looks good. A lot of work there!!
Although i think its quite cruel to put 13's and a flip front on that.
Stick with 10's and a full steel front. Be a lot more valuable if you ever sold it and just nicer in general.

Noice!
By the time you get around to buying wheels, we'll have persuaded you to get 10s

In order to run the best tires I have to run 13" wheels so that isn't going to change. And as for the fiberglass front it came with the car so it's going to be going on too. It will just make working under the hood easier, or bonnet as you fellas would say.
The main goal for this build is to build a car that can change direction quickly, stop quickly and carry speed through the corners. The looks of this car are not important, my motto for this build,
Quick and Dirty

If you want to change direction quickly, 13's aint a good option on a mini...
flip front don't make engine work any easier in my experience.... they just mean you have to lean over more....

I agree with the above.
10's work the best on a mini!
These real early cars are getting very rare be sad to see on 13s with a flip front. Maybe buy a later shell?

Tell that to bill Richards! He runs the KAD mini with 13's! I asked him the same question and he responded with the tyre choice answer!
I think it would look good! Split rim 13's ;) would look awsome!
Nice project by the way! Nice to see another early racer here:D

Don't forget it's a real pain to get 10" tires over here. The tires that work are only available in 13".
