I would be interested in that at £6k its begging to be restored. If its anything like my mk1 nearly every panel needed replacing and with interior and engine build you would be looking at around £15k+ for a full restoration to concours

Thank you for your kind offer but after some serious thought think I'm gunna keep hold it.
Thanks all for there feedback and comments :)

I'm also glad to many of these go to wealthy collectors to store away,it deserves to be restored & wizzed around country lanes on a sunday like every other mini varient.

Thats just my opinion anyway

Glad it's in the hands of someone that can do it justice and not keep it locked in a shed all year!

I may have a wheel, not sure if its the correct type for your car though, it might just be a reverse rim (got the round holes in the wheel centre instead of the long holes) ill get a pic of it for you if you want? (i got it from an old gent years ago, he said it came from a rally mini back in the day, its painted gold so his story might be true!)

As everyone says, keep the car, restore it, its only going up in value, think of it this way, £10k in the bank will get you £100 odd interest a year, a genuine cooper s value will go through the roof in years to come, classic cars are a definite investment goldmine :)

I have a set of original cooper s lp883 rims for it that have been restored, the hubcaps fit better than the replicas (I have a set of both). Drop me a pm if you are interested? The cooper register is a good place to start as is the mk1-performance-conversions website. Standard and original is the key to value. Original cooper and Cooper s by John Parnell is the book to help you keep it in original trim. As for tearing down country lanes buy another mini lol!
