I'm in discussions with Matt over at Nodiz about getting a group buy set up for us here at TMF for the first 5 will get 15% discount, and the first person also to make it to there workshop will also get it mapped for free so they can develop a nice base map for the mini and help get a mini kit set up.

The Nodiz is a new ignition management system released at the end of last year.

It is much simpular than the Megajolt, it uses the ford coil pack but no need for the edis unit so much less wiring. other features include :

launch control
  • 16 Load by 16 Speed Sites, with full 3D interpolation and user definable Speeds/Loads.
  • User settable RPM Soft and Hard Cut Rev Limiters.
  • In-built coil drivers, no need for EDIS or other modules.
  • Coolant based ignition adjustment map (To add advance to cold engines, etc.).
  • Intake Air Temperature ignition adjustment map, to allow timing retarding based on intake temperature to reduce pinking on very high intake temperatures.
  • Cranking based advance angle to help start high compression engines.
  • A programmable Shift Light output.
  • 5v Tachometer Output.
  • A programmable output based on either RPM (i.e. V-TEC control), coolant temperature (i.e. Fan Control) or Intake temperature (i.e. Water Injection control).
  • Bluetooth™ Communication (dongle provided) and apps currently being developed to allow tuning with your mobile, as well as GPS and video data-logging.

Digital Dash for Android

Also, use your android phone or tablet for a fully featured digital dashboard. Android tuning software is currently in development and due for release soon....

its for any 4, 6 or 8 cylinder bud as long as your not running injection but if you go over to their sister site and look at the M-tech range then them setups will do injection as well. have a look on the website or give matt a ring and he'll tell you all about it, really great guy and loves suggestions to improve the system which he then puts in the updates which is much better service than megajolt.

he wants to make ready made kits for the A-series which will be straight plug and play

Would this also have some sort of a tracker unit in built, and if so could help reduce lower insurance cost?

if you pop onto the forum and quickly sign up and put a post in the feature requests and wish-lists he could maybe put a tracker or immobiliser in it.

Good thinking Kappa :)

Indeed, this is a feature I am looking at, as would be easy to just enter 'hardcut at zero rpm' until the correct start code/phone is paired with the unit...

would that be classified as an "approved" immobilizer though? im not sure how insurance companies work but will it need to be a certified one if after market?

Yeah, I just can't see how you can use a phone as a dash. How is it held in securely?? It's gotta be in tight or it will vibrate out, especially with my clubman!

i'm mounting my nexus 7" in my centre binnacle, everything in my car is solid mounted so your clubby can only be as bad as mine and i dont foresee it being an issue.
