Well if grit or dirt gets underneath them, yes...

Find someone with Magnetic L plates and peel them off, underneath there will be dirt and salt and grime. Happened to my sisters clio.

maybe prepaint them everytime you put them on so you know they are clean :) orr......... hang them out the windows...

How does it fit on? Or how does it fit into the scheme of things? :lol:

This is how manic we are, before putting the roof rack on I cut out some pieces from an old bike inner tube so I didnt have metal against metal where it clamps on to the roof

That's not wierd that's just common sense! I have been known to make gaskets for bolts on a certain high end classic before.. 8)

Another tip, a tiny smear of grease on each side. No water no rust!

Its good didnt realise there was such a choice in Rover roof racks.....and the Rover Monte Carlo accessory decal kit had a door sticker !!!!

The stickers do it properly. You look after your cars and wash them properly, so you don't need to worry about fading paint. When you come to sell the car or change your mind, hair dryer and peel them off.
