The roll cage in the rear quarters of the Mini creek when going over bumps is that normal?

If it's creaking there must be movement - not good at all......

can you pinpoint the area that is creaking? i.e the bottom bar where it bolts to the rear frame. make sure everything is tightened up. is it not the shockers?

Hi Ed the noise seems to be coming from the around the area of the torsion bar/shocks area at the top of the frame on the drivers side I will go around checking for loose bolts.
Anyway how are you

doing fine mate, plodding away with the Anglia. i've booked it in for one of our local car shows in may, so i better get the finger out and get it finished.
the Anglia is in the march edition of the retro ford magazine which has given me some motovation to get it finished

Just a thought but are you using poly bushes? They certainly creak and groan (or they did on my 911 track car).

Joss try giving the metal bushes on the suspension a spray with some lube, I use GT85 to lubricate my rose joints and metal bushings on the suspension units.

make sure its not this , its the badly triangulated suspension mount at the back top shocker mount. mine made all the same noises until this. couldn't tell it was cracking under the power coating. joy. complain to zcars if the noise persists if the rose joints are not at fault.
