I was having a similar problem. I thought that my heater matrix was clogged, so I bought a new one only to find it still wasn't putting out any heat. It turned out to be the new heater valve! It wasn't opening enough. I had to bend the metal lever stop out of the way so the valve would open more. After that, all is fine. I'm just out the money for the new matrix that I didn't need...
