Is it the type with just one wire attached to it? If it is you want to mount it on the coil like the one in the pic below. Connect that one wire to the coil + side and mount the suppressor on any clean earthed point. The pic below is how Rover installed them Posted Image

I believe it's just a 1000 ohm resistor.

Hi, I have a 1MF Car Radio Coil Noise Suppressor 1uF Black Single Wire, I brought it to fit to my alternator but have no idea how to fit it, brought it off ebay so no instructions.  Can anyone help with this or should I just contact the shop and ask for instructions?

I read that I should fix to the large brown wire but then I have also read that it should be fixed to a ground

The picture posted by petehuws shows the suppressor fitted to the coil to 'suppress' interference from ignition. To suppress alternator whine you need to fit the suppressor to the alternator connection. Same principle - connect the fly lead wire to the +ve terminal of the alternator and earth the suppressor body bracket, use one of the alternator body nuts to attach it.

Just remove the amp and wire the speakers into the HU

IF the interference is gone, theres your problem!

Sorry I don't know how to insert a picture but this is it http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

For me its just MW (AM) that doesn't work at all with the engine running, ground is at 3ohm but even if I ground it to 1ohm it doesn't make any difference at all, could be a dirty live as there are only 4 fuses in the mini which is why I want to fit a suppressor to my alternator.  There is a condencer next to the points, tried three as one blew and I swapped another
