minbin69 i do not think that the clear coat was too thick.... usually when it cracks up like that it means that the clear coat reacted with the base coat (what did you paint under the basecoat? what paint are you using?)

hi Nossedout i painted other pannels at the same time and they're fine..it's just that one where the compressor died and i just stood there looking at for a few secs like an idiot >_< big puddle of clear coat :shy: ..they were all stripped fully,rust treated,etched,primed and 6/7 coats of Jawell celluose

Oh ok.... hope everything is ok now:) a couple of months ago i sprayed my friends bonnet and the clearcoat reacted with the basecoat and the same thing happend- it cracked up etc... the clearcoat was to be used on Thinner based paint not acqua based paint... the paint shop mixed the clearcoats accidentally....

hopefully it will be one my new compressor arrives :) i've had a problem with incompatable paint before it sucks..

well my new compressor turned up today..not bad only ordered it sunday..all checked over wired up and ready to go :thumbsup: just need to get home early enough to use it...

still messying around with paint..and still not totally happy with it..so thought i'd have a bit of a break from it so went for a look through the box of bits that ain't been touched up and found these..

starting to look a bit better but i got bored of doing it :D with a new set of seals on them and a bit more polish they should be ok

had to admit defeat for now..vanny's been moved out of the garage and locked up and covered up outside so i can get on with frank the mini for my daughter..i'll get this one finished one day :mmkay:
