Cheers, is it the case with all events the vehicle has to be driven to the event?

U17 MCNW autosolo on the 16th of Feb, just outside blackburn. Regs below.

http://btrda.com/ima...184_3506277.pdf

LOCC also have a half day event on the 25th of Jan at Donnington - http://www.loughboro...lations2014.pdf

Most events specify that you have to drive to the event, but there is always at least one person that turns up on a trailer or low loader, but neither of these mention it in the regs.

A bloke at the one on sunday had his car on the back of a lowloader.  The thing is it was road legal (taxed, mot'd, insured etc) but he chose to trailer it as it was a long journey and a noisy rally car....fair enough really.

I think as long as the car is road legal no one will say much.  Check with the CoC before though if intending to do that.

Cheers, that's exactly my problem, it's fully road legal.. But it's far too noisy with sc drops so rarely gets used on the road... Also with only 1500 a year insurance it could be a problem.. Also if the wether is a bit poo I can sit in the van..

I suppose I can always take it on a trailer and run it down the road if it's a problem...

If in doubt always get in touch with the Clerk of the Course for the event.  If you drop the car off the trailer outside of the venue then drive it through the gates i can't see how anyone could argue?

Wish I had a trailer as it would save the drone of rally tyres and straight cuts driving me round the bend on long trips to events!!!  And the dash rattles!!!! ha ha.

Good luck with doing events....make sure you get some pic's posted on here.

Rules say every autosolo car must have been driven to the event, must be currently registered taxed, insured and when appropriate in possession of a valid mot certificate.
Keeps the cost down for everyone that way.

Does it say where the car has to be driven from??  Could be trailered to round the corner then driven into the venue?

Obviously the registration, mox, tax etc etc is all a must anyway...the trailer thing I feel is a bit of a rule that can be bent.  If you choose to trailer it to the venue but it is a truely road legal car then I don't see where the issue is.

There can be no reason not to use a trailer and drive it into the venue from, say 1/2 a mile away. Then drive the trailer into the car park until the meeting is over.

No organiser is going to mind really unless they are particularly silly, in which case who wants to do their event.

There isn't any rule as far I know that stops you from doing as Cooperman said, and I've been to events where it happens (kit cars with little rain cover who aren't aloud to win the event)But I think it also stops people turning up in purpose built vehicles. You might not want to sit on the motorway for over 2 hours because your car is built for acceleration and doesn't cruise well.

If it a not championship event I cant see the problem, but it's not only the organisers so much but your fellow competitors. Someone who drives to the event might not push their car as hard as others who still have a way home at the end of the day.

Another way of looking at it was when list 1b tyres were being used!
