Hi Guys,

I have recently purchased a suck through supercharger kit to put on my engine. I currently have a 1310cc stage 2 engine but one of the cylinders is scored so I have been given a great quote to get it bored out to 1330cc. I have also aquired a Mini Speed Stage 4 Head that I am planning to use with the supercharger. I am now looking at what is best to buy to get the most amount of power out of the engine....

- Would I get more power out of a HIF44 or a Weber DCOE 45 (I have both and both inlet pipes so its a decision between the two)
- What Cam would people suggest going with?
- Would you uprate the gearbox eg. go with straight cut box etc/ is there anything I should check for whilst I have the box off the engine any places of excessive wear? (I currently have a X-Pin diff fitted)
- What pistons should I go for? (What dish size?, Forged?, Specific brand?)
- Should I go for lightened and balanced crank and conrods etc
- What clutch and flywheel would be the best? Turbo?
- Is there anything else I can do to get more power out of the engine?
- Also I am running 10x6 weller wheels with A032R tyres do you think that these will take the power or would I be better off going for a 13" wheel set up?

Basically I have a friend that has a Stage 4 MPI that he will be supercharging, we use the cars on the odd sunny occassional day for a good blast around and we intend to do a few track days if possible. I would like to try and get the upper hand on him even if just slightly haha

Any help would be appreciated :D

Cheers Paul

Have a hif44. Weber will not draw enough through at low revs.
Fast road cam, like a sw05 nothing too over the top.
1.5 rockers
You don't really need straight cut gears, straight cut drops for nice noise. Good you have x pin diff.
Pistons, what ever you can afford. Omega dished forged best to get cr to mid 8's(if possible i would have slightly dished pisyons and have some taken out of the head chamber).
I've got a balanced 1275 gt crank, which i am pleased with. Being balanced will make it more reliable and smooth. I've got standard cooper con rods on mine which are fine.
Also strap the bottom end

Calver does the re13t at 112lca the buoys down under seem to get good results with it on supercharged setups.
