Hi Folks

I've just bought some 6x9 speakers half price from Halfrauds for my under seat board as well as a new mechless head unit & wanted to replace the rear parcel shelf speakers too. Not after spending crazy money but can't find out what the rear speaker dimensions are for my 95 SPI.

I could go & measure it but the car is currently over at my dads so isn't accessible.

Can anyone offer some recommendations & confirm the right size please?

Thanks

recommend you don't have speakers in the rear of the car just the front

Blueturbomini is correct, speakers will sound better in front of you.

But to answer your question they need to be 5.25" speakers for the parcel shelf. Optimise automotive to trimmed rings to enable you to fit larger if needs be.

I've never been a fan of speakers under the back seat;  the sound is muffled and it is hard to get a solid mount for them.  A pair of decent 5-6" speakers mounted up front, as the others have mentioned with perhaps a small sub in the boot and perhaps a pair of 4" speakers on the rear shelf for rear fill only.

Can you fit 6.5" into the rear shelf without major modification?. I have a nice thick piece of MDF to mount them in, with the MDF shaped to fit and screwed down, so they would be sat on that. I have done the same in my other mini but with the 5.25" which are okay, but a bit more bass would be nice...

I believe from Freshairmini that Optomise automotive do some decent spacers rather than getting extra vibration from mdf on the parcel shelf if its not 100% screwed down.

This may help:

i had 6X9 in back, it wasn't too bad for sounding like its behind you due to the small car and how loud i had it :')

. from what i remember its the 5" speakers for shelf but i wouldn't bother with them,
