People will complain about this but Carling as its cheap and Newport where I go out is dam right expensive. I'm not paying any more for a pint.

Either that or I tend to buy bottles of Tyskie. Most of the places in Market Drayton have it and it seams to be perpetually on offer.

That Tyskie is pretty good for a lager, there's another equally nice Polish lager... Both are a pain in the arse to say, when you're at the bar trying to get a round in! Especially when you've had a few :P

Yeah you have to be careful. The bottles are more than a pint and they are around 6%. I think we worked out one night (we hadn't had too many at this point) that once you have finished your 6th bottle you have drunk almost the equivalent to 8 pints of kronenberg/carling/carlsberg/etc. Its often cheaper than a pint too.

Staropramen (its czech) is the other one but isn't as easy to find. I do know of one pub though that actually has it on tap.

Many a time I have bought 3 bottles of Sol or Corona when they are on offer and kept them all to myself. Always a risky strategy as someone will get you for being double parked.

Strawpedo's and tequila shots seam to be a common thing as well when ever I go out. My friends are still amazed that I can make a bottle of most alcopops disappear in 4 gulps.

Put a straw in the top of the bottle, that way you can down the normal wkd/vk size bottles in about 2 seconds

That's what I do. I just can't do what my mate Jason does and open my throat up and let it pour in.

Trust me its gone in a few seconds.

Got a cracking real ale place here - not a traditional pub, more a bar that's under a viaduct - which means I will normally try and sample something new every time. Prefer dark beers - my current favourite is Tyne Bank Mocha Milk Stout

Prague is the place to go if you like lager. Been three times, and my favourite was one called Demon, which I found in a student bar. Also, most tourist shops seemed to do "buy a t-shirt, get a free beer!" And the nuclear bunker tour I went on ended with a crate of beers being passed round.
Generally in England you can't get the good lagers like in Europe, so I stick to ales, trying something different every time, or the boxes of 15 mixed ones Morrisons sell.
Generally "going out" means spirits - whisky, absinthe (another Prague favourite of mine) and some lethal >56% Chinese spirit I bought in Beijing for 70p. After that, I invariably don't remember the night before :X

Went to Belgium about 6 years ago and found Grimbergen Blonde. It's the nicest beer I've had in a long time (strong too!). Can't get it over here much so when the Father-In-Law pops across the Channel to France for a "Cultural Exchange" (booze run) he always brings us back a crate or two  :w00t:

You should send him to the abby of Westvleteren they litteraly make the best beer in the world but you can only get one or two crates per year because the monks only want to sell as much they need to have enough money to live, in other words, they don't want to make a profit out of it:

And if they don't want to give you any (they are very strict) you can always get some St.Bernardus Abt 12, it's the same recepy but it's made in a factory and tastes a little bit different (still very good):

 And watch out it's 10% alcohol ;D
