Guys,

I have a '95 Spi and have just put on a new manifold and exhaust system from Maniflow. I took it to its MOT and the emissions failed showing

Fast Idle

CO =2.15%

HC = 103ppm

Lambda = 0.959

I know you get a lot of these emissions problems but just after the most sensible course of action in a kinda play by play.

Its running rich. Is there a possibility i have the pressure sensor on the wrong hole on the inlet as i have a vacuum gauge on one and the MAP sensor on the other. (theres two holes on the back of the inlet)??

Cheers,

Rich

Had the temp gauge moved, mine failed on emissions last week, I noticed the temp gauge hadn't moved from the bottom.

It's in today for the retest.

logic would dictate thats it llinked to the recent manifold change, assuming all was good before.

That said I would suggest hooking it up to a diagnostics reader to see if the sensors are firstly working and secondly operating within the correct parameters.

Also, and I think opinion is devided on this, the lambda may well be better placed in the Y piece of the LCB. I have drilled and welded a boss in mine to take the lambda, I haven't moved the lambda yet as I want to see if it does make a difference to emissions, however my mate did the same, it failed the emissions so he moved the lambda and the emissions were fine.
