I too am looking to getting a welder but I'm completely baffled at what brand to go for! I thought sealey was good but apparently they're rubbish and I've had a look at boc but apparently they're not worth the money? Someone throw me a good brand?

50m is a bit far, but you are always going to need (want) power - welder, compressor, lights, angle grinder, drill, battery charger. Power makes everything easier. If you're going to be there long I'd suggest it would be worthwhile getting power there.
