How much is a 2001 Cooper worth? 28,000 miles from new. There is a catch though, it's cat C accident damaged.

how bad is the rust? any MOT? any service history?

EDIT: looks quite high at the back, have you recently fitted hilo's?

The car is on a salvage web site, was just interested in what a good example with a cat c marker would be worth once repaired.

It has front offside damage, that's why it looks high on the rear corner.

Rust isn't an issue as this would be sorted in any repairs i'd do to it.

Cat d -30% of value.
Cat c -50% of value.

I would not have dropped 2k on that. No way. The amount of damage just from the picture alone is significant.

Door, door post, inner wing, wing, front panel, scuttle repair, bumper, lights, possible bonnet.

Then mechanically wheel, tyre, brakes, drive shaft, ball joints etc. Drive shaft and what damage has it done to the diff?? Front subframe?

Is the car straight, what other rust is on the car, the passenger door is rusty.

It was probably worth £1400 (maybe) in parts. Those type of MPi patterned seats were only avaliable 99 onwards until end of production and even then they wasn't a popular option as most people opted for the full leather, as they were only about £40 more. Seats worth about £600 I'd say. That dash is even rarer, they made them in Red, Green and that Blue. I believe the Blue is quite a rare dash as again they wasn't fitted until I think 99 onwards. Few hundred quid just on the dash. Then there's the rest of it, minus the front end O/S damage, the other parts look in fair good condition to break and sell off seperately. MPi engines (if it isn't damaged) can fetch near £600 if they're complete good runners. Not worth 2k in that condition though, looks like it needs about near a grands worth of work to make it right again.

i brought a mini turbo with less looking damage but still o/s/f wheel damage. looking at it needed door, a panel, subby to be sure, a post repair and off you go.............boy o boy was i wrong and have been in the car trade for more years than i want to admit. when removing lower dash panel the truth was evident. shell was bent in the middle. wont make that mistake again !!!
