Hello! i have just purchased an automatic mini badge for my auto mini city e. I am planning to change the engine/gearbox within the next year but as the auto minis are becoming rarer and rarer, i plan to one day take my mini back to it's original spec (engines going in the garage!)

 

anyway, where does the auto mini badge go on the boot? i cannot find any pictures of placement of it anywhere, i personally think it looks best in the original place where the 'mini 1000' badge goes (inbetween boot hatch and the number plate light holder) is this the standard placement for it?

Aside from the earlier Mk1s & 2s which IIRC had scripted chrome badges on the boot lid, the only auto badges fitted I have seen were on the very bottom of the boot lid in the middle & were a black plastic badge with chrome effect lettering. Is this what you have?

No i have one that is in similar lettering to the 'austin seven' badges, i'm guessing i've got an earlier badge then? (i'm not fussed as my car isnt standard and i like how this looks :))

Yup, sounds like it. But I think it's way better than the newer type anyway. Do it!

Yup defo the old-style one
