Problem Tuning

Hi all

i am currently trying to tune my engine that has a stage i kit stage 2 head and a AAU needle

 

when i use the colour tune i only get a light blue colour but the carb adjusting nut

is turned up right to the last(tighten up and opeded about 1/4 of a turn when i use the lifting pin

the carb doesnt die off, i took off the dash pot the adjusting nut is level with the bridge

and the body off the carb has petrol in it.....

 

 

Can anyone give advise

You need to lower the jet by turning the nut clockwise

See if you can get a turquoise colour or blu with some sparklin red flames every now and then.

Remember you're just setting up idle mixture and not tuning your car, you need to put load on the engine to tune it

When i lower the jet the car blows black smoke and dies off....

Aew thats not good, is the needle valve in the float chamber sticking?

Dont think so i put a new float needle in will check tomorrow, tks do you know what the timing should be at

Static timing or you're using a timing gun?

Try 6-8 deg BTDC

Thanks for the replys, it turns out it was the float valve, so i got out the colourtune and the

gas tester

 

i now have a blue flame and the co % is at 2.5 all good

 

but how can i tell that all is good when its under load , i know by looking

at the plugs and the smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe

 

when it is underload the plugs are yellow in colour like there is a weak mixture... so do i leave fuel fuel in....

 

Can anyone give any hints
