Evening peeps,

Posted in the Turbo forum as I'm taking a punt on a few of you pushing the envelope with ignition systems to match boosted powertrains.

Question is a fairly simple one - which Fords can donate a 91AB 12K072 AA EDIS4 unit.

Does anyone have a definitive list of vehicles - spent last hour scouring the web - seems that HCS engined Fords used it - they are as rare as hens teeth in today's knackers yards!

I've got the coil pack/connector and leads of a mates dead Zetec Fiesta - Megajolt ECU, EDIS4 and VF sensor required...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HCS was in early KA's and Fiesta's, if your breakers haven't got them then your breakers must be a decent one! Have a look for another yard?

Cheers - I'm bidding on Fleabay but they don't appear to have the wiring...  all important. Another trip to the breakers - I'd forgotten completely about Ford Ka's!

The local breakers has a plethora of dead silver top Zetec Mondeos. Sought after currency in the Kit car world - but not what I'm looking for!

Stevede - can you post a rebuild thread linky?

I got mine off a couple of escorts - circa 1992-96 if I remember correctly although i'm sure others will produce the goods.  I managed to strip the wiring from the loom complete from the crank trigger back up to the EDIS module in one piece;  fits the mini a treat (well mine anyway!)

I definitely got some bits of a 1.3 P plate Mk6 style escort

I dont know much about KAs, but it seems to be on the cars before about '95 or so that have them, so mk3 fiestas and escorts of a similar vintage. So I wouldn't have thought that the KAs would have them, possibly the very early ones? There were a few cars of this age in my local scrappy and all of them were missing their edis units, and only one had the plug left.

I think there's still a list on AutoSportLabs. Late 80's to early 90's is the right ball park. Watch out for a later version of EDIS with vacuum hose connection; you can't use it, but you can use the connector with minor modification. Ebay could be your best bet now, you could easily burn as much in petrol finding one in a scrappers now.
