After Stanford Hall, my Mini is going to be parked straight on my driveway and have a shed built round her. I have counted £260 of non genuine panels, ouch. I didn't realise how bad she had got. That's without the inevitable patches to the inner arches and bulkhead that are exposed by ripping off the front end. Looks like a busy Autumn!

Good luck with the restoration.

If you really want a shock, go round again and work out the cost of Heritage panels! :D

My credit card doesn't go that big..... Will need a respray too, the only external panel to stay the same is the roof. Which is already a different blue to the rest of the car!

You clearly have much to learn!!  >_<

The first rule of mini ownership is "never add up what anything is going to cost", and if you really have to ignore that one, then don't ever break the second rule of "never ever add up what you've actually spent!!

I have done this car on a real budget. I have had it for over 5 years. In that time, I have spent less than £1350 on it. That includes all mot tests, all welding, carpets, alloys, oh and bought the car! So I dont mind throwing cash at it this year, she deserves it! It is her 25th birthday after all!

The same goes for when I build my mountain bikes too. I once totalled up my mini stuff and almost cried!

Mountain bikes is a totally different thing. It's my trade. My hubs cost more than I paid for the Mini with Mot....
