Noticed a hole forming in the sill. This is the only hole and the rest looks fine. What can I do about that?

I also could think about changing my door!

Cheers.

If its holed you can guarantee further rust issues behind best solution is to remove the sill and replace there fairly in expensive once it's off you will see if the dreaded rust is lurking behind its a mini after all !!

Re the door the same applies get a new skin and replace this forum has some great tips on how to do it then you will have peace of mind knowing the rust has been banished.

I second the sill repair, re door skin, you will find the same brown stuff as the sill.....

That first pic looks pretty crusty. A quick go with a wire wheel will make that hole an awful lot bigger I think. Better to do the job properly than just do a quick bodge, make sure whoever does it does it with a replacement sill and not an oversill.

Always remember this with a mini, the rust never starts from the outside. It always starts internally. If you are lucky it will only be the outer sill that's toast. The door skin always rusts along the bottom and so the rust will also be among the door frame and lower flange.

Unfortunately rust like that can be just the tip of the iceberg, could end up with inner sills to first groove and jacking points as well as the outer and maybe doorsteps, just make sure you are prepared for what may lie underneath. My mk1 was similar and I also had to do localised floor repairs and heel board.
