Hi,
Overall I get on quite well with the MAC software, and now probably prefer it to the previous windows software I used to use. However, I find IPhoto absolutely
!
I don't edit my photos, and if I did I would use Photoshop etc to do so, not in IPhoto... All i really want to do is put my photos where I want to, which for some reason isn't easy with IPhoto. (E.G add subfolders to folders) Even deleting them is a task!
So has anyone got any recommendations for another program?
Thanks alot,
Mike ![]()

I only use iPhoto to crop and check though photos when I first upload them. Once I'm done in iPhoto I put them in specific files on the desktop.

I'm quite surprised by this, I have found iPhoto to be one of the best things about switching to Mac. In the same way that iTunes was the thing that made digital music truly accessible for many people, iPhoto makes keeping track of your photos so simple. I now know where everything actually is, and how to get to them. I never had a proper handle on it when I used a PC. Stop trying to put things in folders, leave it all together and let iPhoto catalogue everything like iTunes does. You essentially keep all your files in one place and tag them with different things saying how you would like to catalogue them, you are only presented with the cataloging in the interface so it doesn't matter where they physically are. But it can catalogue things in folders outside if you want it to, and it's so easy. I assume you have found out about albums and events, you may not know that the same photo, kept in the same place, can be catalogued as being in events outside its album and all sorts of other stuff like that. It's clever if you stop trying to file things how you want and just tell it where you want to actually see everything in the window. Just let it worry about where they physically are. It's clever, it'll sort it out fine and they will be easy to get to when you do need them. It's not like Windows or Android where there will be dozens of copies and links in all different qualities just for the sake of it.
