Ok so stripped the rear end of my clubman k series project and as expected everything needs replacing.. So looking for some advice on what suspension people are running and would recommend. Car will just be weekend toy, few track days things like that.. Was looking at beam axles but think I'm going to put a new standard subframe back in but maybe fit coil overs??

If you want coilovers you'd be better off with a beam type frame (technically it's not an axle)

If it's got cones up front why not stick with cones, hilos, up-rated adjustable dampers, lightweight radius arms, rear disk conversion... the list goes on and on haha

The lower the unsprung mass the better the ride and handling :)

as above, if you want to fit coilovers, you may as well fit a beam type subframe replacement. it is advisable to beef up the top of your rear wheel arches to cope with the extra stress put on them from having the coilovers.

otherwise, just stick to the tried and tested route, new cones, hi-los, new knuckles, new mounting bushes for the subframe, and new dampers/shockers (personally i like GAZ adjustables as i have used them for years on a multitude of cars)

if you do stick with a conventional setup, im sure i dont need to tell you to give it a good coat of paint with hammerite as a minimum, or get fancy and spray it in some spanking bright colour in 2k paint. oh and cake everything in coppergrease!
