I have got twin SU's on my 1275 but I am unsure if they are HS2's or HS4'show can I tell the difference ? Thanks

  HS2s have the mounting studs that hold them to the manifold arranged vertically above and below the choke, the HS4 has them diagonally across it.

H4's have vertical bolt holes too.....

So am I right saying that I have got hs2's I don't know a lot about carbs to be honest:) if you couldn't tell, can you tell by the fittings on the block or will I have to have a look at the carbs themselves?

Ok thanks, I will put a picture of the carbs up when I am back home on Monday, otherwise I would have put a picture of the carbs up and asked

Yeh, but he doesn't have a clue which carb's he has. I was merely pointing out that just going by the bolt pattern is flawed. A better way would be to post a photo, as HS2's look very different to HS4's and easily identifiable even if the manifold bolt holes can't be viewed.

because there's hundreds of twin H4's on mini manifolds kicking about.............

 

 

 

....if you want to get funny with me, your HS2 carb search is utter garbage because three rows down are pic's of HS4 carbs.

 

Best thing would be to post a pic of an actual HS2 carb.

 

And i have seen many H4's for sale recently...on here too.

Nope, removable tappet chest covers are a good give away, the 1275s ones arnt removable so this is either an 850 or 998cc unit

I got told that it was a A+ 1275 engine

No.  There are A series 1275s with tappet chest covers, but no A+ ones.  It's a Gold Seal (oddly with a Silver Seal head fitted), what engine number does it carry?

I'm away for the weekend so won't know until late tomorrow or Monday, any idea on what the engine number should be similar to? Or contain?
