Hello
My mini is a 1961 850, with drum brakes all round. I replaces the brake fluid in the master cylinder today, and then tried replacing the old fluid in the brake lines by unscrewing the bleed nipples in turn. I used an Ezee Bleed which I have use many times before with no problem.
There was easily enough pressure going through the master cylinder force fluid through. But no fluid came out of the nipples ( all four).
I removed the nipples and checked for blockages, and there were none, I could easily blow through them.

What could be the problem, could it be the bleed hole on each wheel slave cylinder?
Thanks
John

Take pipe off the master cylinder and ensure fluid is coming out of there (make sure you catch it in something its not good for paint work or you)

Don't know if you have to press the brake pedal with the easy bleed, but if you do are you pressing the pedal hard enough?

Sounds like your ezee bleed is broken, try using the pedal and see if anything is coming out that way.

Hi

I managed to bleed the clutch OK, so the ezeebleed is working fine. There are no airleaks on the ezebleeed.

But I take back what i said about the brakes working properly. Today, I took the mini out for a drive, and brake pedal has to be pressed hard to make the car stop, coming up to roundabouts etc. Much harder than it used to be pressed.

Also, the master cylinder is the original one from 1961, so I reckon thats likely to be the problem internally. I think, for safety sake I will replace it with a new one.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

John
