Oil Light

I have changed the oil and filter using 20/50 engine oil
My first thought is the oil maybe getting too hot? Although have never need a cooler on any of my other cars and they were quite high output engines.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Best regards Dan

I take it there is no oil pressure gauge. Do you know what pressure switch is fitted?

sounds like a tired engine and the old problem of the oil running away from the oil pick up pipe in the sump when cornering. Whats the oil pressure like cold and hot?

its and old problem with higher mileage cars, the oil thins down when hot and if your oil pressure is low the pump struggles to draw oil from the sump. On a standard car the oil pick up filter is located to one side of the sump, the answer used for many years is a central oil pick up pipe (plus an engine rebuild to adress low oil pressure)
You may find an oil change may help but its putting off the inevitable

I would get a oil pressure gauge installed and find out what the oil pressure is.

^^ an oil pressure gauge is cheap and easy to fit and you will know for sure if you have low pressure when idling.
