hi all, i'm looking at ways of improving my engine in the future (only 18 atm so not going to happen for at least another year or two) and apart from the obvious thing of dropping a 1275 in, i'm interested in going forced induction. i've looked at turbocharging and it's just too main stream for me  ;D i've been put off suck through super chargers because of the low mpg figures but i do like the idea of a supercharger so i was looking at the centrifugal superchargers from rotrex and the likes and it seems a good choice but the prices are a bit large for my liking  >_< so my question is: what are the pros and cons of a centrifugal supercharger ? is it worth it ?

cheers all

Rhys

Turbo charging too mainstream?!

Supercharging is more mainstream I say. Theres loads of supercharger kits that anyone can slap on, and they're all pretty similar.

With a turbo, unless you guy an old turbo engine, all the bits need to be custom made. There are no kits that I know of.

yeah all the kits are suck through though and i think there are too many compromises in a suck through set up for me. i want something different (as if a road going forced induction mini isn't rare enough anyway ) and i was just curious to the centrifugal superchargers. if not i'll go blow through eaton M45 instead  :proud:
