Hi guys, another newbie here... Picked up my first mini on Saturday and I am in love with it! Such a shame Ive got it to take off the road at the end of the week and revert to my other car, would love to drive it every day!

Here she is anyway; Rover Mini Equinox, 1996 1.3L

Got a few bits to do, but in my opinion it doesn't look like anything major, but I'm no expert! So you'll probably see me asking around the forum for advice and help with pretty much everything. I've created a blog, its got more photos on it and when I get around to it I'll be updating my progress.

Yeah its that rear valance that worries me the most... after Ive had my fun driving her for the week im getting it in my garage away from the elements and starting to get the ball rolling... Underneath seems pretty good, sills all sorted out recently, and the previous owner gave me all the receipts for the work she's had done, and all I can say is that she's looked after it!

Welcome!

Nice choice and good luck with it - I love the Equinox series, A personal favorite of the special editions.  Nearly bought one myself in the dark purple (can't remember it's proper name).  I didn't, because this example was a rot-box and not looked after well, would of been good for a full restoration though.

The interiors are brilliant haha

Before I picked it up I wanted to paint it black and forget the equinox stuff. From the picture it didn't look too nice on the inside, but when I went to view the car I changed my mind. Quite like it in all fairness, although the silver hasn't grown on me. I do think the equinox purple is a nice colour so that's a possibility. All in good time, like you say, rust to have fun with haha

Personally, i'd try and keep it close to original spec as possible - or at least keep the original stuff if you plan to swap any of it out.  They're quite a rarity now!
