Hi just a question about my alarm/immobiliser on my 1996 mini... Ive worked that the alarm fob works and it does immobilise the engine, and sound the alarm if I forget to turn it off... but if I do forget to turn it off and open the door, nothing happens until I try to start the engine. Should an alarm sound if I open the doors without disarming it first? I assume this is factory fitted (yes newbie here haha)... this is what the fob looks like anyway:

Thanks guys.

Yes.

But only as long as you actually arm the alarm.

Just check the courteousy switches on the door.

Does the interior light come on when you open the door?

Just had a look. Seems like the one is missing on the drivers side door. Like black push in thingy?

Yeap.

Without that, the alarm doesn't know you've opened the door!

Need to find the wire for it and get a new switch!
