im starting to want to get rid of my mini :/

as funny as it seems I'm sick of spending so much money (go figure)

Ive put a lot of time into mine, I just wondered, I know how much it owes me, how much I would want for it and i know much I would accept for it. BUT how much do you think it is worth?

Some of you will know the work and money thats gone into it. Without going into too much detail.

its a 72' 998 Clubman, the car has done 82K roughly, the whole shell has been welded shut in previous years, the engine had done 32K miles then it was rebuilt at 42K miles which is the engine below and my clock say something like 68K i think LOL

The block has been built by Jonspeed, its a 1310 with warranty.
Lightened Flywheel, Kent Duplex Timing Chain with a 286 Kent Cam
The head has been built by Cylinder Head Developments 36mm and ported and polished/skimmed and leaded inserts
The gearbox has been fully re-built by Guessworks, 2.9 FD uprated diff, close ratio gears with warranty.
Running on a Weber 40 dcoe on a 5" manifold
Running in tuned by Aldon engineering.
Genuine Kad quick shift with lift reverse.
Uprated coil, new uprated plugs and Leads, Oil cooler new hoses. New uprated Turbo Clutch.

10x7 Force racing wheels all on 008's

satin black finish, no rust anywhere! can find any :P

tinted windows, 70's original louvre restored and fitted, miglia arches,

Stage 2 Hi flow Manifold + Maniflow RCM link pipe with a custom back box and tail pipe.

genuine lucas light covers, custom interior, genuine 1275 gt clocks, LED's all round, LED's inside and in clocks, fan on switch.

Theres loads more.

Crikey, no locking wheel nuts on those bad boys! you must be very trusting. Love that steering wheel and headlining too. Very jealous.

I don't think you should get rid of it, but thats just because I don't want to get rid of mine. Its your opinion after all, but you would probably not get back what you have already paid, and then miss it. (In my limited experience of owning things anyway!)

As for a valuation, I couldn't give you an answer as I'm poor at judging and not too experienced. So probably always pay too much for things or look like a **** for asking too little.

Nice mini, anyway! Go with your gut.

Cheers, Jack

Godd luck whichever way you go.

it's a car done to a very personal taste

you are either have to sell it cheap or wait for someone that likes the same thing as you

i would be looking at it saying to my self it's gona cost me over £1000 to sort the paint work out and would only offer you around 2k for it

but i like shiny paint work and like i said it's done to your taste

Is this a daily driver?

If not, dont use it, touch it or even look at it for 4 weeks, then go back to it, look it all over, start it up and go for a blat down some country lanes.

If the sparkle is still there, it's worth making the extra effort to rekindle the love! If not, sell it (with a heavy heart).

I've fallen in and out of love with my TVR's over the last 10 years, but absence makes the heart grow fonder.

that's going to require a buyer that thinks the value is the same

Yeah but if a month down the line he wish he never sold it, atleast he got what he thinks its worth? maybe.

Saw the first piccy in the thread and thought "I'm sure I've seen that Mini before", then look at your location and yes it is the same one.  I'm Droitwich based too, and I've seen the car around quite a few times.  I have to say it's quite probably the most unique and head-turning Mini around these parts.  It is simply awesome, and the way it it lurks and looks all sinister just make it all the better.  Whatever you do make sure you don't sell it for less than you should.  I've been watching the sales of minis for a while now until I find one I like and it seems like most of the cars on my watch list seem to end without a bid, admittedly these are project-to-be cars in the £1.5k-3k bracket which yours would be well above.  In it's favour its a clubby so should help to sell it, but even still you may need to play a waiting game.  Good luck with it.

Unless you can find someone with similar tastes to yourself, you are going to take a hammering if/when you sell.

Putting it politely, it's very individual!

Value at the moment?  A half to a third of what it has already cost you.

Bob

I completely agree with Bungle's posts and was about to say the same until I read them! I love the spec of the mechanicals, just what I'd be looking for if I was in the market for another one! But as Bungle says, the look is very personal to you & you'd have to find someone with the same taste to get the right money. Personally I hate matt/satin cars (that paint style should be reserved for fighter jets & overpaid Premership footballer's Mercedes'!) & I think the interior is horrible & I'd rip the lot out - strip it, cage & harness & belt it- but i'm a boring old f*rt with obviously much different tastes who'd want to hillclimb or rally it, so I'm not your right market. But again as Bungle said, I'd be looking at £1k for paint & probably at least the same again to sort the interior so would want you to knock that off the asking. Others on this thread obviously love it though & would probably bite your hand off at your price!

It would make a cracking hillclimb car with those mechanicals though!!
