A few have mentioned its done to a very personal style..mechanicals sound good, but exterior I'm not liking, but interior not bad in places :)
So will take a specific buyer.

I understand the personal aspect perhaps limiting buyers but that shouldn't mean you should put the price lower than you think, it might just mean you would have to wait a bit. If someone doesn't like it, they aren't going to be interested in buying it!

What happens if you sell? You'll buy something else and start pouring money in to that.
If it doesn't need expensive repairs just drive 'n enjoy it - if it does you're going to take a hammering on the value.

it's a car done to a very personal taste
you are either have to sell it cheap or wait for someone that likes the same thing as you
i would be looking at it saying to my self it's gona cost me over £1000 to sort the paint work out and would only offer you around 2k for it
but i like shiny paint work and like i said it's done to your taste
I completely agree with Bungle's posts and was about to say the same until I read them! I love the spec of the mechanicals, just what I'd be looking for if I was in the market for another one! But as Bungle says, the look is very personal to you & you'd have to find someone with the same taste to get the right money. Personally I hate matt/satin cars (that paint style should be reserved for fighter jets & overpaid Premership footballer's Mercedes'!) & I think the interior is horrible & I'd rip the lot out - strip it, cage & harness & belt it- but i'm a boring old f*rt with obviously much different tastes who'd want to hillclimb or rally it, so I'm not your right market. But again as Bungle said, I'd be looking at £1k for paint & probably at least the same again to sort the interior so would want you to knock that off the asking. Others on this thread obviously love it though & would probably bite your hand off at your price!
It would make a cracking hillclimb car with those mechanicals though!!
I know the seats let it down, but surely thats it, interior wise? It would cost me 750 to get it fully re-spayed, as i was going to get it painted, but then lost my job ;( what would you do interior wise? and why would it cost a grand to sort? The satin black is not my choice, its how it is LOL if i had my own way it would be a metallic colour of some description ![]()

Is this a daily driver?
If not, dont use it, touch it or even look at it for 4 weeks, then go back to it, look it all over, start it up and go for a blat down some country lanes.
If the sparkle is still there, it's worth making the extra effort to rekindle the love! If not, sell it (with a heavy heart).
I've fallen in and out of love with my TVR's over the last 10 years, but absence makes the heart grow fonder.
no its not
i love my car i really do, but i just keep thinking, if i went full time with my mk1 golf i wouldn't spend any money
but you are right...

Saw the first piccy in the thread and thought "I'm sure I've seen that Mini before", then look at your location and yes it is the same one. I'm Droitwich based too, and I've seen the car around quite a few times. I have to say it's quite probably the most unique and head-turning Mini around these parts. It is simply awesome, and the way it it lurks and looks all sinister just make it all the better. Whatever you do make sure you don't sell it for less than you should. I've been watching the sales of minis for a while now until I find one I like and it seems like most of the cars on my watch list seem to end without a bid, admittedly these are project-to-be cars in the £1.5k-3k bracket which yours would be well above. In it's favour its a clubby so should help to sell it, but even still you may need to play a waiting game. Good luck with it.
are you?! lol I'm in stafford now
sinister is what i want
life is a waiting game, but then again im in no rush ![]()

Unless you can find someone with similar tastes to yourself, you are going to take a hammering if/when you sell.
Putting it politely, it's very individual!
Value at the moment? A half to a third of what it has already cost you.
Bob
its because its satin black, i know. Which is one of the biggest reasons, i want a respray so so much.
if it had the respray, the engine is having a rebore so its a 1340 so miles on that, its pre a 73, a clubman, no rust, the wheels. i wouldnt accept less than 4K to be quite frank with a paint job, with the satin black i think people reckon like 2 and thats trying :/ but considering the engine is worth £1600 and the wheels are worth 1K , 2K is harsh. but its because of the spray job

Seeing as you asked, like I said it is very personal taste,
I'm not a fan of big wheel arches GRP 2 is about as big as I'd go.
Stickers don't do it for me either....
Don't like the "grill" either
Guess I prefer the clean look.
To be honest only thing I don't like to much inside is the union flag, I love our flag but just not inside the car :) and the rear cards I'd have black.
Seats aren't to bad , I quite like those :) But solid black do look cool.
But doesn't matter what I'd do we all have our own style.
Actually just noticed the pic in your signature :) It looks pretty good there, no arches, proper grill ![]()

If I bought it & had to start from scratch, I would lose all the seats, and that headlining..!! I'd need new MSA approved buckets (about £400 for a pair), MSA approved harnesses (about £250-300), a full Safety Devices cage (£400) & other stuff like an extinquisher (£100), cut off switch etc. So my off the top of the head figure of a grand was a little low!!
But to be fair, that would be the case with any standard car I bought, so it's not simply that I don't like the interior of yours . It's obviously something you like (I assume, or you wouldn't have done it!) but it's just doesn't appeal to me, but more power to you as it's your individual expression & it would be pretty boring if we all liked the same things. But it would definitely affect what I'd offer you if you were trying to sell it to me! And most people wouldn't be happy driving a competition prepared Mini around as a daily driver (which I happily would if ours was actually running!!) so that may well affect the value when (if) we ever decide to sell ours...
And as to not spending any money on your Mk1 Golf - yeh right, I thought the same about the Ibiza Cupra that I bought off my son....!! ![]()
