standard mini's fetch good money, personalised ones don't.

on saying that i wouldnt like to own a standard one.

If you do them to your taste, don't expect to get what you spent on it. enjoy them and take the financial knock when you sell.

it's a car done to a very personal taste

you are either have to sell it cheap or wait for someone that likes the same thing as you

i would be looking at it saying to my self it's gona cost me over £1000 to sort the paint work out and would only offer you around 2k for it

but i like shiny paint work and like i said it's done to your taste

I completely agree with Bungle's posts and was about to say the same until I read them! I love the spec of the mechanicals, just what I'd be looking for if I was in the market for another one! But as Bungle says, the look is very personal to you & you'd have to find someone with the same taste to get the right money. Personally I hate matt/satin cars (that paint style should be reserved for fighter jets & overpaid Premership footballer's Mercedes'!) & I think the interior is horrible & I'd rip the lot out - strip it, cage & harness & belt it- but i'm a boring old f*rt with obviously much different tastes who'd want to hillclimb or rally it, so I'm not your right market. But again as Bungle said, I'd be looking at £1k for paint & probably at least the same again to sort the interior so would want you to knock that off the asking. Others on this thread obviously love it though & would probably bite your hand off at your price!

It would make a cracking hillclimb car with those mechanicals though!!

I know the seats let it down, but surely thats it, interior wise? It would cost me 750 to get it fully re-spayed, as i was going to get it painted, but then lost my job ;( what would you do interior wise? and why would it cost a grand to sort? The satin black is not my choice, its how it is LOL if i had my own way it would be a metallic colour of some description :P

If I bought it & had to start from scratch, I would lose all the seats, and that headlining..!! I'd need new MSA approved buckets (about £400 for a pair), MSA approved harnesses (about £250-300), a full Safety Devices cage (£400) & other stuff like an extinquisher (£100), cut off switch etc. So my off the top of the head figure of a grand was a little low!!

But to be fair, that would be the case with any standard car I bought, so it's not simply that I don't like the interior of yours . It's obviously something you like (I assume, or you wouldn't have done it!) but it's just doesn't appeal to me, but more power to you as it's your individual expression & it would be pretty boring if we all liked the same things. But it would definitely affect what I'd offer you if you were trying to sell it to me! And most people wouldn't be happy driving a competition prepared Mini around as a daily driver (which I happily would if ours was actually running!!) so that may well affect the value when (if) we ever decide to sell ours...

And as to not spending any money on your Mk1 Golf - yeh right, I thought the same about the Ibiza Cupra that I bought off my son....!! :D

why would you need that? thats money straight down the drain! :P

i havnt spent more than 300 pounds in 2 years on the golf! :P

the seats i hate, i want new ones :D and the head lining, because its a great hassle to change its going to stay + everyone loves it, sorry some :P possibly red is the wrong colour then :P

Seeing as you asked, like I said it is very personal taste,

I'm not a fan of big wheel arches GRP 2 is about as big as I'd go.

Stickers don't do it for me either....

Don't like the "grill" either

Guess I prefer the clean look.

To be honest only thing I don't like to much inside is the union flag, I love our flag but just not inside the car :) and the rear cards I'd have black.

Seats aren't to bad , I quite like those :) But solid black do look cool.

But doesn't matter what I'd do we all have our own style.

Actually just noticed the pic in your signature :) It looks pretty good there, no arches, proper grill :D

the stickers are kind of like a last attempt on the satin black :P  the door cards are quite frankly annoying as they are faded red hehe same with the front hence why i want rid hehe the original grille is behind the other grlle :P i wanted something different :D

i know its so true, standard ones is where the monies at! ive spent like 6 on mine and i dont think without sorting the slightly faded interior and the satin black exterior it would be worth more than 2.5-3 but with those done i reckon 4 but who knows
