Please see pics attached, not the best but is my y piece fitted right? As it seems so close to the side of tunnel, should it be a bit more central? Is there other y pieces? Or are they all the same shape? Thanks

seems okay from the photos, bear in mind that the exhaust has to pass beside the gear linkage

Looks OK from me too! I need to pop out to my garage in a short while I'll try to post a pic of mine but I'm guessing it looks the same, I don't see anything wrong.

Wow! great mk1leg! Have you got a clamp on the y piece to the centre section?? The one I've got just about clears the tunnel, but any movement and it touches, then vibrates, annoying!

What down pipes have you got
Got a straight through rc40 stainless link pipe, which way round should it fit? The bend near the y piece? Or straight then the bend nearer the exhaust end? Thanks

I mean the outlet manifold pipes coming from the engine.
I don't know to be honest, I brought it as part of a job lot, so don't know, sorry!

Does the Y-piece bend off to one size when it joins to a single bore?
looks like it does from the 4th photo
Also looks like the two manifold pipes sit closer to the driver side of the channel?
Try setting up so the Y-piece branches more into the centre so the pipe runs down the channel.
That way the pipe should be a little further away from the wall of the channel and should hopefully help with the vibrations.
The length of pipe you have from manifold to rear box, does it have bends on either end?
You should be able to arrange the piping you've got to divert the pipe around the gear change.
I find that i've had to mess around with trying different ends of pipe to get a nice fitting set up.
From my experience with two different mini's and LCB set ups, I think it depends what patent brand you go for as to how much trouble it might bring to set up.

Hi yes the y piece does bend off to one side, and
upwards i think. And the manifold pipes yes are bent, but it looks as if one have been cut slightly, and one in shorter than the other!
Thanks for your reply!!

Okay, might be a bit of trial and error to get a nice fit then, which shouldn't be a problem.
The bends are just to help channel the pipe around the gear change ect.
Both of mine needed the same thing when fitting.
I'd advise dry fitting the pipes in place first so you are certain that it will all fit as it is.
Then once you know it all fits, take it all apart then cake the mating surfaces of the pipes with exhaust paste just to be safe.
It's definitely worth it while you're under it rather than come across a horrible blowing noise when you start it up and only have to get under it to paste in anyway
Hope all goes well :)
