I'm trying to decide weather i should build a full metal flip front or purchase a fiberglass one for my 76 mini project. Generally im not a huge fan of fiberglass, not convinced they will fit as well as id like. however need the extended flip front so would require a lot of work to make it out of metal. just curious what some opinions are, and if anyone knows how well the extended fiberglass front ends fit. any pictures of gaps from a fiberglass front end or anybody who has done a full metal front end would be much appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I assume you are after a extended front as you have some sort of 16v conversion?
I think it is the luck of the draw, I have had a few of both over the years, some fiberglass fronts look like they have been moulded from a BMW mini the panel gaps are that bad, where as the one I have at the moment fits very well. I have had the same with metal wings, some fit perfectly, others are miles out.
I think it is important where you get them from, If you buy a extended front from a reputable company I am sure the panel gaps will be near perfect, just as you would with heritage metal panels.
If you are in need of a extended front I think ARC angles make a already extended fiberglass front where as I don't think there is anyone out there who supplies already extended metal fronts so you would have to extend it yourself.
I know that there are a fair few members on the 16V mini club who have extended fronts so you may get a better response from there.
Hope that is of some sort of help.
