Just picked up an 1100 engine that's completely standard. What head will be on it and what is the diff most likely to be? Thanks david

As Dan said what car ?is it from a older 1100 or from the time when they were put in the mini, diffs in the old 1100 cars will be very low.

It's from a 1976 clubman estate so is an a series rather than the later a+ that was fitted at the end if production

am i right in thinking the head will be a 12g202? im pretty sure thats the head on some of the 1098 engines

My last mini was a 77 clubby estate. Not sure what head, but as above, it was geared down. Pulled very nicely but was very noisy on the motorway. Partly due to a cone filter and single box RC40 though  >_<

noise isn't a problem with the amount of insulation I plan to put in the car while its a bare shell. Plus I wont be using a cone filter as I have them with my twins on the other mini and its very loud on the motorway
