Check leads to the coil for 'dodgy' or dry connections.

its all new and its an electronic ignition that has been fitted? and when you say dry? do i need to put something on them? i would of thought dry connections would be better?

How was the engine sounding before it cut out? was it really chugging and struggling or was it very sudden ?

A dry electrical connection is one which is corroded... for an engine to just stop, I would say most of the time it'll be electrical. Does not matter if you have electronic ignition or not, if the 12v feed on the coil comes off, your engine stops, full stop.

When the engine stops, does the battery ( ignition ) light come on ?

I wouldn't think it would cause the engine to suddenly cut out. Overfilling the oil can hurt an engine and more likely in smaller engines. Its my understanding that overfilling oil can cover part of the crankshaft and as it spins, it whips air into the oil itself. Oil with a lot of air bubbles can air lock the oil pump and damage the engine.

Check the oil level and drain some if necessary to avoid any further problems with your engine.

My engine cut out a last month but the reason was found to be water in distributor and vacuum hose snapped. However, before my engine cut out, the car was really struggling to turn over so its odd that yours suddenly went without warning.

Edit: It does sound more like an electrical problem. Battery possibly? Sorry I'm not much help.

i think its only over about half inch? but when the engine running it drives lovelly. i will get some out. all my connections are clean and new. but its funny how it only done it a couple of times and not all the time when i stop.

battery brand new only fitted it couple of days ago as my alternator wasnt charging the battery but i have changed the alternator and i am getting readings of 14 volts going back in the battery? so thats got to be ok? ino on my engine i dont have a pipe coming from the airfilter to this round tube that sits on the right side on back of the engine it blows air out of it when wngine is running sorry can not think of the name of it. but would that make much difference?

I'm lost. Sorry. My best advice is take it to a garage who does engine servicing and see what they say :)
