ive got a new MED alloy road rad, billet alloy alternator pulley and a minisport steel 6 blade fan and when put together the fan hits the surrounding of the radiator, i cant move the radiator over any more as it will hit the car body at the top.

Has anyone had this problem? has anyone got the dimensions of a plastic fan?  if its not as wide then i think thats my only option

any help would be great!

cheers, Rich

yeah im not to keen on cutting the blades down as surely it will unbalance them to, i cant see how i can modify  the cowling because the radiator is so close to the body of the car already so it cant go that way at all.

i think the easiest option is to buy a plastic fan and in the future put an electric fan on, what do you think?

Put it back to standard maybe? Standard rad and cowl, std fan pulley and 11 blade fan, std alternator pulley. All designed to fit together in the space available and work without fowling.
Get you money back on the 'goodies' as the do not seem fit for purpose.

i wont be sending it all back as it looks very very good in the engine bay, i think i have just got to make it work by modifying it or changing the fan

the fan isnt touching the cowling at all so i dont need to bend it, its touching the radiator itself

I see, you need a new top bracket then to push the rad further back........

back as in further away from the fan and towards the wing?

You are highly unlikely to need a 6 blade fan with an alloy rad, fit the plastic one.

The metal fans used a different radiator cowl, you need to mod the rad cowl or cut the fan down. Cutting the fan isn't really advised as it, limits it's cooling ability......

And will put it out of balance.

spoke to mini shops ( MED and minispares) and they are confident that the plastic fan is good enough and it measures 22mm thick where as my steel one is 57mm!
