Just about to say that, if that actually is his address. 

I tried to find the surname against the road he gave me but nothing came up. Saying that, people aren't always in the phone book.

Well I would say just give it a couple of days at the moment. Sometimes these things happen. If he is genuine and you keep basically accusing him of screwing you over he might not be too happy.

 

On the other hand, there is little chance I would have handed over that much money to someone who contacted me like that. Given that you are only 50 minutes away, I would have suggested meeting up, giving you a chance to grab a coffee or beer or something with the guy as well as giving you a chance to try out the camera to make sure there are no problems with it or the lenses etc. 

 

Put it down to a learning experience. Good luck getting the money back.

I asked but he wanted it sorted before his holiday. Anyway he text me on the way to work, and it said....

I will ring my dad and get him to text or ring you regardless. He is at work too. Ill get all the tracking etc to you tonight or latest morning. By Tuesday latest you will have the camera, even if it means us dropping it off. Sorry for lack of reply, rather hard on holiday.

If someone had taken your money with no intent on sending the camera then why would they even bother texting you back? He's on holiday, let him relax, I realise it's a lot of money but if it were me selling a camera and a courier messed up. The. The guy buying it was constantly pestering me about it whilst I'm on holiday it would make me not want to put as much effort in to getting it sorted out soon.

Staying optimistic some people are just compulsively incompetent and find it impossible to stick to timescales, perhaps the seller is just one of those people rather than a scammer. I once had someone arrange to pick up an item off me no less than three times, every single time they failed to show up and didn't even bother contacting me beforehand to let me know. I gave up in the end on the basis they must have some sort of personality flaw

Sent him a text tonight and I meant it. Staying calm though. Not a reply since yesterday. I will wait untill Tuesday, if nothing shows up or I hear no more. Then I'm afraid I will have to go to the police.

Looks like I have been robbed guys, no reply. 
 

I googled the mobile number and it came up with loads of adverts of him selling other stuff on the same day he sold the camera to me. 

All from Nottingham, contact Mark which is his name and same mobile number. 

I will wait untill tuesday before getting hold of the police.
