I love the MINI Rocketman concept! I quite like the new MINIs - especially the 2001-2006 models which IMO looks spot on for a modern car. The newer models are looking less and less like "Minis" though and more like BMWs so the Rocketman would definitely be a good direction to go design wise.

Imagine the Rocketman priced like lets say a Fiat 500. They could sell loads! Obviously it might be costly to build though.

The Monte Carlo MINI concept in photo above was displayed at shows by Rover back in 1997......some of the details like the interior influenced the R50 MINI under development by Rover engineers at Gaydon and launched in early 2001.

I thought Rovers Spiritual would have made a good city car

However I think with hindsight BMW made the right decision to go with the R50 MINI........as the 'Spritual style' Mercedes A-Class which was launched soon after has become a development dead end and has recently been replaced by a conventional 5 door A-Class hatchback model range. The aluminium Audi A2 also disappeared after only a few unsuccessful years without trace........
