Hi, I am building an 85+hp 1293 and I am wondering which baulk rings to get for the gearbox rebuild. I will be fitting a straight cut close ratio gear set and X-pin diff.

 

I want the baulk rings to be reliable as they will no doubt do a fair bit of work.

Minispares have their own: P/N 22G2033MS that they claim are better than genuine. They are a quarter the price so I am dubious. Where else can they be brought? Guessworks sells baulk rings at a similar price to the minispares items. Are the genuine the only option from minispares at 20 pounds a pop? If they are then so be it.

I never use anything else other than OE in a quality build.

from experience the guenuine ones are worth the 20 quid over the others, better still, use the ones that cam out the box if they are still servicable

 

Ive had the cheap ones lock the box when it is bolted up due to being "wavy".
