Ok so here we are again . .

(1990 rover city 1000 998cc)

My mini was playing up and took it to a garage and they reset the points then it ran fine. Drove it today and it started cutting out again. Took it to a garage and the points wernt opening. The mechanic said the rotary arm inside the dizzy was moving up and down which is shoudnt be knocking the points which is why they keep need setting.

1. Is this the problem?

2. If so do i need a new distributor or can i replace a part that stops the rotary arm moving up and down?

3. If i do need a new one where do you all recomend?

Any advice much grateful as trying to get this thing ready for ltb but the jobs are mounting up and the money is running out :(

Many thanks simon
