Ok so harry saw me parked on the pavement last weekend , along with everyone else who lives in chatham cause as the RAC bloke says HT leads and fan belt are shot ! Although when a mechanic turns up to find out an electrical problem for you , your not filled with much hope when he say's "oh so when was the battery moved to the boot?" ******* ! but anyway . ive sorted the HT leads but am having a bit of trouble finding the right size fan belt ?? this is probably because ive changed the alternator ( A127 70 amp )what ive bought just seems to tight its an quinton hazel QBA813? is this the right one,

Get yourself a bit of washing line and measure the belt run with it. The length and width of the belt is marked on it - if a motor factors aren't bright enough to realize this then buy from a dedicated V belt supplier.

For what it's worth the QBA 813 is a 10mm wide 813mm long Z section belt - if you need a bit longer then the next one up is QBA 825.

In fact wherever you buy them from, the numbers in the part code are the length in mm as above for the QH belt.  Same applies at Halfords.
