As some of you lads may know I am mad, as I am always putting my name in for making money for charity!
Anyway-
On 24-27 September 2013 a 14 man team, that I will be part of from the Inkerman Company Grenadier Guards are cycling from Wellington Barracks London, to Waterloo in Belgium. Now I have never been on a road bike before 
but that's half the fun! All this is in aid of The Colonel's Fund Grenadier Guards.
The Colonel's Fund has been raising money since 2007 in order to provide support to Grenadiers who have been seriously injured in Afghanistan, and to the families of those who have been killed. The Grenadiers have carried out 3 tours in Helmand Province and have lost 15 members of the Regiment who were killed in action; in addition, the Regiment has sustained a large number of battle casualties, with many suffering life changing injuries over 70 last year alone.
Of course, there remains the unquantifiable number of young men who will have suffered mentally and who will need our support in the future.
