I've had this mini for quite some time and have finally decided to put it on the road.  After all why not have two so you have a choice.  I've worked out most of its issues, but still having a few with the wiring.  A prior owner has made some changes to the wiring so trying to sort them out is a challenge.  I cannot get the Hazards to work, not real sure which way to wire it back into the harness, or if anyone has a bypass solution.  Ive read most of the topics on hazard issues, which gave some help.  here are the pictures,  the blue wire was running all the way across the bulkhead and looked to be connected to the positive on the coil.  Gave it a try, didn't produce anything but bad running.  The car seems to be missing some in line fuses as well.  top one is rear fog, middle is the dip/dim, bottom isn't connected to anything, but everything else is working.

thanks, have both. Not great with wiring diagrams, hence why I was looking for help, not a smart response

What a mess!  Can you get a better photo of the colours running to the various inline fuses before they are jumped into the red cables?  Cut the little cable tie and straighten out the loom, trim back some of the loom tape and see what is what.  You'll probably have to clean the cables up a bit.  One inline fuse should be for the hazards so that may be the root of the problem.  That blue wire runs to the rear loom, and that connector block has been used to join the front and rear looms together.  See if the blue cable emerges in the boot anywhere, it might be that someone was running an electric fuel pump on the ignition circuit by connecting it to the coil.

Looks like the blue wire was spliced into the original wire leading from the hazard relay.  once some of the tape layers were gone, I found the corresponding wire, which led to the inline fuse.  I'm not sure why the hazard was cut from the wire to begin with, hopefully this doesn't lead to other problems since it still looks like a few more splices have been made.  here are a few pictures of the wires.  Im still missing an inline fuse, not sure which wire have been respliced.  sorted for now.  Thanks for the help

It's a terrible mess, but is typical of so many used Minis.  Everyone thinks they can do what they like with the wiring, then they get annoyed when things don't work properly.  What I would suggest you do at this point is to remove all those badly fitted replacement inline fuse holders and fix a second fusebox to that side of the bulkhead to accommodate all of them (God only knows why Rover never did this).  Clean up or replace the original fusebox too at this point.  Do away with that ridiculous connector strip and use more suitable connections to join the front and rear looms.  Clean everything up (clean wiring really does work better) and re-tape the loom with genuine, non adhesive loom tape.  It's probably only about half a day's work and a few low cost parts that you need but the result will be far more reliable and much easier to troubleshoot.
