i always wanted a mini so when i sold my race truck ( a 1984 chevy s-10 pick-up with a 383c.i. that produced appox 450 - 500 hp i ran 11's in the quarter mile) i found a mini that was sitting in a garage for over 20 years i talked to the owner and bought it! when i brought it home i gave it a much needed tune up..i turned the key and it started!! i have a 1976 mini 1000 canadian....i had it for about 6 months.
is a bit modified thou....it only has two seats, a rollcage. i have no side-rear windows, don't have a boot its' been sealed up. where my back seat used to be is my battery box and it's open to where my boot was and sitting in the "boot" area is a gas tank from a vw bug with two spouts that go out ( from the outside it looks like i have twin tanks). as for the engine it's nearly stock - i have a race header, it had a nikki carb on it when i got it which i switched to a 1.5 inch su and a chopped and smoothed intake, i pulled out the wiring harness and made my own ,i switched the points ignition for for a newtronic one. i'm in the process of get it running again.
