Restoring my 1978 Van, emigrated in it from Manchester in 1981 complete with all worldly posessions, tools, trailer etc

Family heirloom. No salt and not much rain, so body surprisingly good.Had swopped to LHD by 1985, gone to 12" Innocenti wheels, reversed seat brackets / cut out back platform so 6' 2" could drive comfortably and remain invisible when seen from side, fitted battery in a cradle on top of clutch etc so not concerned about originality or value because no intention of selling and have 4 teenagers ready to fight over who inherits.

Now doing 12" discs, roll cage, 1275 Metro motor, HiF44 etc and keeping general appearance stock.

Currently mounted on a spit for body repairs and tweaks.

Would like to know how to post pictures ? Familiar on other vehicle-sites but not with this platform. Is there a link I missed ?

Rory

To upload a picture onto here you need to sign up to a site called photobucket: http://s1293.photobucket.com/

Once you,ve done that upload your photos onto there and then click the button which says "Get links",

This will then pop up a few links you can use, copy and paste the IMG code one (bottom of the selection) and paste the URL into your post and an image of your choice will show when posted

Cheers

Cliff

Many thanks Cliff, I get the drift, they use that method on the E-Type site too so can manage.

Good luck with the rebuild! Are you custom building the cage? I have a van too and would like a cage, but can't be bothered with a build from scratch, especially as I don't have a pipe bender.

Sorry for general silence and apologies for not answering to the various comments, rather rude and confirms how the web encourages sloppy behvaiour.

Been very distracted on other projects.

Am posting a new string regarding "Rotisserie/Spit for a Van", to be followed by  "Roll-Cage for a Van".

Neither seemed to be addressed in any depth when I was thinking about them, so I hope my learning curves will make somebody else's learning curves less steep.

Allo Allo!  Welcome to TMF. I look forward to following your van restoration. There is a variants section on her to put your van resto in.

Good luck and keep going!

If there are any fellow van-sufferers out there with a decent number of postings, would someone mind putting a "Wanted" advert up for me ? Looking for 2 good panes of sliding glass for one Mk1 / Van door (mine have been grinder-sparks damaged) and as a Noobie I'm not allowed to ask ............ Many thanks in advance. Rory
