I have a slopping metro alloy rocker cover (big red centre cap ) with there be enough clearance for roller rockers ?

1.5 roller rockers don't like alloy covers. You might have to switch to the tin can style.

If shave it down on the inside at the back of the rocker cover, you will get away with it

Is it all the way along the back edge that needs grinding back?

What about the standard shape alloy covers? I've got some coming. Didn't know this!
